The 17 year old defender has agreed a two year transfer to Aberdeen from recently relegated Charlton Athletic.
The offer came as a shock to the young star, who said "I hadn't thought about Scotland at all.
I knew there would be people from American Universities and even Spanish clubs there, but I hadn't thought about Scotland.
"It's a long way to go - not just like Birmingham or somewhere - it's a whole different environment.
"But when I went up for the trial everyone made me feel completely welcome.
"After the two days training with the first team, they wanted me to stay another five, but I had to come back home so I didn't get behind with my A-levels. And they offered me a contract."
Kurrant is Jimmy Calderwood's fourth signing so far this summer as the Dons look to improve their squad and improve their chances of Uefa Cup glory next season.
