The 24 year old, ex-Wimbledon striker, who has spent the last 2 years at Clyde, has joined for a fee of £30,000.
Hinds, who had already signed a pre-contract agreement with the Dons told the Official AFC website "This is a big opportunity for me and I'm determined to repay Steve Paterson's faith in my abilities. Despite their current league position, I think the Dons are a huge club and I'm excited by the chance to play for them."
Dons boss Steve Paterson said of his fourth, and probably final signing of the transfer window "When I took the job a month and a half ago, I said I'd like to add four new faces to my squad and thanks to a lot of hard work from John Kelman and David Johnston in particular I've managed to achieve that. Leigh is a tricky player with a good eye for goal who gives me another option in attack."
The Englishman has a record of scoring once every three games for Clyde.
Hinds has been handed the number 28 shirt, and could make his debut at Ibrox on Saturday.
