Reports came out this week that Aberdeen would be interested in signing Charlie Miller during the January transfer window if the swaggering but rotund playmaker can prove he is fit enough to play in the Premierleague.
This may prove a difficult one for the Dons fans to take for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Miller is an ex-Rangers and Dundee United player. More importantly, we all remember the report coming out of his current club, Brann Bergen, that Miller was in far from peak physical condition.
Jimmy Nicholl said on Tuesday: "I know that the manager likes him as we spoke a bit about him at Dunfermline but it depends on his needs. If he needs a creative midfielder then who knows, but he doesn't need an unfit one with a bad attitude so it all depends on Charlie. It's the same wherever he goes because we all know the ability of him as he is a good player. A fit Charlie Miller would be an asset to anybody and there's no doubt about that."
Meanwhile, Noel Whelan successfully came through 90 minutes of Tuesday night's 1-0 reserve defeat at Inverness. This may see the Englishman return on Saturday in the Dons' SPL clash with Motherwell at Pittodrie. The fans will be hoping that Noel shows some bouncebackability to boost a Dons attack that seems to have found its shooting boots without him, scoring 4 in their last 2 games.
