Former player Paul Sheerin has left his post as Arbroath manager to return to Pittodrie as Under-20 coach.
Sheerin, 39, has been player-manager at the Red Lichties since 2010 and replaces Neil Cooper, who was let go earlier this month.
Sheerin guided the Arbroath to the Scottish Third Division title in 2011, and has an excellent reputation in the game.
Aberdeen chief executive Duncan Fraser said: "Despite wishing to retain Paul's services, Arbroath chairman John Christison was good to deal with and completely appreciated Paul's desire to come back to Aberdeen."
