The 31 year old Frencham was quoted on the official AFC website as saying: “Ebbe Skovdahl has a very young side at Aberdeen so I hope I can lend it some experience. The chance to play in European competition also attracted me to the club as every player wants to enjoy the special thrill of playing in the UEFA Cup or the Champions League.”
Boss Skovdahl said of his 2nd signing in 2 days “I've been tracking Laurent for some time as I feel we need a physical presence up front. I'm sure Darren Mackie and Leon Mike will benefit greatly from having such an experienced striker to feed off. Once again it's all about having options in the squad.”
Chief Executve Wyness said “I can understand our fans being a little frustrated at the perceived lack of transfer action involving the Dons but we were determined to make sure Ebbe got the men he wanted. The signings we've made over the last twenty-four hours once again demonstrate the ambition of Aberdeen Football Club. I believe the mix of youth and experience we are gathering here will stand us in good stead for the future.”
D'Jaffo, who the Dons tried to sign last year too, could make his debut alongside fellow Frenhman Eric Deloumeaux in todays friendly with Brechin City at Glebe Park today.
