Aberdeen have this morning completed the £50,000 deal to take 29 year old, Motherwell defender Eric Deloumeaux to Pittodrie.

The on-off saga was finally completed when the Frenchman passed a mdeical this morning.

Although the length of his contract has not yet been disclosed, Aberdeen-mad understands that the former Djon and Le Havre player has signed a 3 year deal with the club.

Deloumeaux told the official AFC website that this move finally gives him the opportunity to sample European football, “This gives me the opportunity to play in the UEFA Cup, an experience I haven't yet savoured. I know Aberdeen are a very young side, but they have a lot of Premier League experience and I believe the club has an exciting future. The defenders here are all good players so I will have to play at the top of my form if I want to hold down a regular place in the team.”

Ebbe Skovdahl is delighted to have such a versatile and talented player on board and said “Eric can play anywhere in defence but is also able to feature in midfield. His arrival at Pittodrie certainly gives me a number of extra options in the squad.”

Keith Wyness is just pleased that his hardline tactics with the Frenchmans agent have paid off and said “This became quite a protracted saga but we are all very pleased to have reached a successful conclusion. Eric Deloumeaux, as we saw last season, is an accomplished player who will add some experience to Ebbe's young squad. I'm sure the fans will welcome him.”

Deloumeaux is in line to make his Dons debut against Brechin City at Glebe Park tomorow - 3pm kick off.
