INCOMING Dons boss Mark McGhee has been told by the Aberdeen board he won't have to sell any stars to strengthen the team.
Dons legend and Director of Football Willie Miller and Chairman Stewart Milne promised McGhee that despite the club's finances, he would not have to create his own transfer budget.
And McGhee has warned any clubs courting the likes of Sone Aluko, Lee Miller and Jamie Langfield, who have been linked with leaving the Dons in recent weeks, that there is no point chasing them.
McGhee told the Daily Record: "Part of the agreement I have with Willie and Stewart is I don't have to sell anyone.
"Our fans don't need to have any worries whatsoever that we are going to do anything other than strengthen the team. That is the most important thing.
"The only way a player will go is if I don't need him and he isn't a part of my plans. Anyone coming in for them will be wasting their time."
