ABERDEEN wing star Sone Aluko could be out until the New Year because of injury.
Aluko had been a doubt for Saturday's clash with Kilmarnock but Aberdeen-Mad believes that he could miss the rest of the Dons' games this year.
The 19-year-old went for a precautionary scan on Monday where it's believed the injury was discovered.
The news will be a blow to the Dons, with boss Jimmy Calderwood setting his sights on catching third-place Hearts by January.
Calderwood confirmed this evening that Sone will be out for at least three weeks, but believes that he has enough back-up in attack.
He said: "It looks like [Aluko] could be out for about three weeks.
"Sone will be a big miss. He is a big player for us. However there are others [who] could come in.
"Gary McDonald has come in and done very well. There is Chris Maguire, [and] Jeffrey de Visscher did very well when he came on on Saturday. We have enough options."
Better news for the Reds is that Scotland Under-21 international defender Andy Considine will be fit for Saturday's game.
Considine limped off in the first half of last weekend's home win over Motherwell, and had been a doubt for the trip to Rugby Park.
Calderwood said: "It was a brave brave tackle from him last week. It looked bad for a bit after the game but luckily enough he is fit."
