ABERDEEN have received another major boost following their UEFA Cup exploits.
Former Dons legend and Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has agreed to extend the loan spell of striker Sone Aluko for the rest of the season.
Aluko, 18, was due to return to Birmingham next month but Big Eck has indicated that he would prefer the forward to keep learning his trade at Pittodrie.
McLeish said: "As regards Sone Aluko, I spoke to Jimmy Calderwood about Aluko and have agreed he can stay at Aberdeen. He is doing all right. Hopefully it will toughen him up a wee bit.
"Jimmy has said he has done well and he's brave enough, although slightly built. We will get a word as to what the length of term the loan can be or must be."
The youngster played his part in last night's emphatic 4-0 victory against FC Copenhagen, which set up a last-32 match with Bayern Munich.
