ABERDEEN comfortably made it through to the next round of the CIS League Cup thanks to goals from Paul Hartley, Rory McArdle and Bebo Maguire.
The Dons went ahead in the 17th minute when Fraser Fyvie was brought down while trying to round Alloa keeper Robertson, who gave away a penalty and was shown the red card.
Skipper Paul Hartley slotted the spot kick behind Alloa's substitute goalie.
McArdle grabbed his first goal for the club following a Hartley corner on 37 minutes and Aberdeen took a comfortable 2-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, Maguire added a third on the hour to seal the tie for the Dons.
A sour note for the Dons was injuries to Zander Diamond and Fyvie, the latter being stretchered off after he caught his studs on the plastic pitch according to the official AFC website.
This proves yet again that while they are fine for training on, plastic pitches are not yet fit for purpose in terms of competitive fixtures.
