Aberdeen extended their unbeaten run to five games as they ran out narrow victors in a hard-fought encounter against a spirited Livingston side.
However, the visitors could count themselves very unfortunate as they hit the woodwork on three occasions during the match.
Aberdeen made all the running during the early exchanges with Livingston looking hesitant in defence.
Leigh Hinds had an early chance for the Dons, but from just inside the area he blazed his shot wildly over.
The visitors had a major let-off in the 12th minute when Phil McGuire appeared to be upended by David McNamee, but the referee waved aside the Dons appeals for a penalty.
Livingston created their first chance in the 20th minute when Stuart Lovell's header from a Rolando Zarate knock-on was comfortably held by Peter Kjaer.
Barry Wilson, so often a match-winner for Livingston, almost scored his seventh goal of the season when he turned Phil McGuire at the corner of the box before curling a shot beyond Kjaer, but back off the inside of the post and away to safety.
Aberdeen opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Paul Sheerin found Hinds inside the area. The former Clyde man turned well before firing the ball through the legs of Alan Main for his first goal for the club.
Livingston were again denied by the woodwork when Rolando Zarate’s 25-yard free-kick crashed back off the post with Kjear well beaten.
Sheerin showed excellent skills as he neatly clipped the ball over the head of Stuart Lovell before hitting a sweet volley that was brilliantly turned around the post by Alan.
Hinds was the provider of the next chance when he got clear of his marker wide on the right.
His low cross was met by a diving header from Darren Young which fell just the wrong side of the upright.
Livingston were denied for a third time by the woodwork, following good link-up play by Zarate and Wilson. The ball fell to Julian Maidana on the edge of the box, but his curling shot crashed back off the crossbar.
Livingston were reduced to ten men in the 73rd minute when, following a clash between Wilson and Maguire, Wilson responded by pushing the Dons defender, a move that ended with the referee sending the striker for an early bath.
Seven minutes from time Steven Tosh robbed Marvin Andrews on the byline before cutting inside and trying a deft lob that went only inches wide of Main's far post.
