Aberdeen confirmed that they had complained to a UEFA delegate after their 1-1 draw with KF Shkendija, claiming goalkeeper Danny Ward had been targeted with a laser pointer.
Images tweeted after the game seem to confirm that a laser pen was shone in the rookie keeper's eyes during the match.

Europe's governing body has now confirmed that it has taken action against the Macedonian side.
In a statement it said: "Disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Shkendija for use of laser pointer - Article 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
"This case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control Ethics and Disciplinary body on it's next meeting on 23 July."
The teams will play the second leg of the tie at Pittodrie on Thursday July 9.
