Snoyl Snubs Dons

Feyenoord's left-sided midfielder Ferne Snoyl has finally vetoed a permanent return to Pittodrie because the Dons cannot meet his financial demands.

The 20-year-old Dutchman took a voluntary pay cut to move to Aberdeen on loan in January.

Snoyl had explosive start to his short Pittodrie career, with key roles in the Dons' back-to-back victories over Rangers and Hearts in the space of four days in February.

However, since those games his form tailed off and he found himself relegated to the bench.

Dons Legend and Director of Football Willie Miller told the Daily Record: "We just couldn't compete with the wages that Snoyl was on at Feyenoord so he won't be coming back to Pittodrie.

To be honest, we were lucky to get him here for the second half of last season.

"It's proving difficult to bring in new players but apart from the Old Firm and Hearts, every other club is in the same position.

"We don't have a draconian budget in place, there is scope to do things and I would hope that at least one more new player will be added to the squad before the new season."
