September Return For Langfield

The 31-year-old suffered a seizure a fortnight ago and spent a couple of days in Glasgow's Southern General hospital.

He then travelled south of the border to seek the advice of a top specialist and investigate the cause of the illness.

Langfield has now been given the good news that he will be able to resume his career and he is set to return for pre-season training with the rest of the squad next week.

He is unlikely to be back in the first team until October at the earliest but has already been assured by boss Craig Brown that he is still regarded as the Dons' first-choice goalkeeper.

A statement from the club read: "Aberdeen Football Club is pleased to confirm that keeper Jamie Langfield had a positive consultation with his specialist yesterday as he continues to recover from a seizure suffered earlier this month.

"Jamie will return to his specialist in a month for further routine checks and should then be given the green light to resume full training in September.

"Everyone at the club wishes Jamie all the best with his recovery and look forward to him returning with the rest of the squad for pre-season training next Thursday."
