The 26-year-old defender was overlooked by the national boss for recent friendlies with the USA and Norway, despite being in solid form at Pittodrie.
Reynolds, who says he raised the matter with his club manager Derek McInnes, says he is hopeful being part of a winning Dons squad will lead to him receiving international recognition.
"For me it's getting my head down and keep playing away," Reynolds, speaking at Aberdeen's Tesco Bank Football Challenge festival at the city’s Sports Village, told STV.
"It's nice that people are putting my name up there with Scotland squads and saying I should be selected.
"But for me, it's just about doing well for Aberdeen and playing well.
"I had a word with the manager about it and we both just said that when an Aberdeen team starts doing well, starts winning trophies and starts competing in Europe, it's going to be a lot easier to recognise a player that is playing well for Aberdeen.
"I think I just need to get my head down and keep playing. Then hopefully that call will come sooner rather than later."
