DONS defender Zander Diamond denies any suggestions Aberdeen players underperformed in order to get rid of former manager Mark McGhee.
Craig Brown and Archie Knox were confirmed as the new management team at Pittodrie on Friday night in the wake of McGhee's departure which came after he took just four points from his last 13 Clydesdale Bank Premier League games.
"Everybody has their own personal pride in any dressing room and I don't think any player went out to get a manager sacked," said Diamond. "That's just ludicrous."
He added: "We like to think when we come into our work we give 110% in training and games.
"If you were to ask any player they would be hurt at the accusations they didn't perform because they didn't like the manager.
"I would not say there is guilt at what happened. These things happen in football.
"The players must take responsibility for themselves, but there is no point looking back - we just have to get back up the table.
"People can just make their own judgements.
"The players have professional pride and go about our work in the same manner with every manager.
"It's done and dusted now, as Mark McGhee has left and we wish him all the best."
