The SFA boss was in Aberdeen yesterday to outline the paltry £30m spend on the national game to a variety of local groups.
Walter Smith's men face the Faroe Islands in their first Group B fixture on Saturday, September 2, but date clashes with the far more important (for SFA coffers) Robbie Williams concert.
Taylor now has to find an alternative venue and could take the crunch clash north although Pittodrie's capacity of just 22,199 could work against it.
He told the Evening Express: "There have been no discussions yet in terms of the venue for the Faroes match.
"But I have had some thoughts about it and I'm keen to see matches played around the country when we get the opportunity to do so.
"I'm certainly conscious that there are a lot of Scotland supporters in the North-east. It would be great to take the game there for them.
"We are not ruling Pittodrie out as a possible venue and it will receive every consideration.
"It has to be high up on a list of possible venues, but there are other things that need to be talked about."
