Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes said pop-art guru Andy Warhol in 1968, but Aberdeen winger Peter Pawlett - born four years after Warhol's death - will be hoping his 15 minutes are just the start of his fame.
The English-born youngster qualifies for Scotland followed a rule change that allows British passport holders to play for any of the Home Nations, provided that they have been at a school for at least five years in that nation.
And the Banchory-schooled 20-year-old will be delighted with his decision to turn tartan after making his debut for the Scotland Under-21s in their opening UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying match against Bulgaria last night.
Pawlett replaced Dundee United's Scott Allan on 75 minutes, which gave him just a quarter of an hour to do his stuff, and he managed a header on target late in the game as the young Scots were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw.
Pawlett has long been held in high regard by Aberdeen's coaching staff, but a serious knee injury in January 2010 threatened to severely stunt his career before it had a chance to get going.
Fortunately the skilful attacker has recovered and has shown glimpses of the trickery and directness he is capable of already this season for the Dons.
And hopefully he will get further chances on the international stage to demonstrate his talents and accelerate his progression - and prove that he didn't pop in to the Scots U21 team only to pop art again.
