The Dons forward has been served with a notice of complaint over an alleged act of simulation during Aberdeen’s weekend win over Hibs.
Pawlett won a penalty for the Dons during the 1-0 victory, going down admittedly easily under contact from Ivan Sproule, and having reviewed the incident the Scottish FA’s compliance officer believes there is a case for Pawlett to answer.
Aberdeen now has until 3pm on Wednesday to notify the SFA of its intent to either accept the fixed penalty offered or proceed to a fast track tribunal.
Pawlett is also the subject of an appeal by Aberdeen against the ridiculous red card he received for attempting to block a clearance in the same game.
And this shambles will continue until Scottish football's governing bodies prioritise the recruitment and training of competent officials, introduce a system that holds referees fully accountable for their errors, and force officials to explain their decisions to the public immediately after games.
