Jimmy Calderwood was pleased with last night's performance from his team in the 2-0 win at Montrose, but reserved most of his praise for Polish trialist Piotr Wlodarczyk.

He told RedWeb: "I was happy with the second half performance as we were sluggish in the first half. The grass was quite long so we struggled at first to get our passing game going but after the break we upped the pace, looked much sharper and the movement was better."

"I was delighted with the performance of Piotr. On another night he could have had 3 or 4 goals. The lad has a good work rate, he has a good touch and has pace. He also linked up well with other players which was impressive considering it is the first time he has played with them. I was pleased for him when he got his goal because he deserved it.

"I am still hoping to take him to Holland, but it depends on one or two things"

Jimmy was also happy with the efforts of fellow former Par Barry Nicholson who played his first game in an Aberdeen shirt. "He showed tonight that he has a great touch," he said.
