The Dons face having no first-choice defenders in place for the difficult away trip to Inverness on Saturday.
Jimmy Calderwood told the Evening Express: "[Captain] Russell [Anderson] has to see the doctor later this week after his recent injury but it looks very likely that he will miss the Caley game.
"It will probably be about another week before he is available which is a real blow.
Jimmy added: "Michael Hart is definitely out. Richie Byrne is suspended and young Andrew Considine has been out with an injury although hopefully he could train tomorrow. Chris Clark, who can also play in defence, is out with a broken foot.
"Defensively I am faced with a big problem, especially if Considine does not make it back.
Ryan Esson and Zander Diamond are both on international duty this week, and with the physio's room already bursting at the seams, Jimmy knows that the Dons cannot afford more casualties. "I just hope they return unscathed," he said.
The Dons boss will be more concerned about teenager Diamond, who was involved in the Scotland under-21 game against Belarus last Friday that saw three players sent off.
If Zander does pick up an injury, the gaffer will have to line up with no first-choice defenders at all; instead choosing from the likes of Scott Severin, Barry Nicholson, Kevin McNaughton and Scott Muirhead - all notionally midfielders.
