DONS youth team coach Neil Cooper revealed new Aberdeen management duo Craig Brown and Archie Knox are looking for more character from the team following the 5-0 defeat to Hearts.
Rudi Skacel scored twice, with David Templeton, Stephen Elliott and Arvydas Novikovas also on target as Hearts romped to a fifth straight win, scoring 13 times without conceding in the process.
Former Scotland boss Brown and his assistant Archie Knox quit Motherwell on Thursday, agreeing two-and-a-half-year deals at Pittodrie on Friday, and watched the dire Dons demolished from the stand at Tynecastle.
"They made their observations, they made a couple of points to players," said Cooper, who took charge of the Dons' first team with Neil Simpson.
"The way to get out of the situation is by showing character.
"That's something that's lacking at this moment in time but that's something the manager and Archie are looking for in the coming weeks and coming months to turn around the position we're in."
