The 21-year-old told the Dunfermline website: "I was at Aberdeen from when I was 10 years old so it is with a heavy heart that I am leaving. But it was clear that I was not going to be playing as much as I needed to be in the current set-up and I have to make a fresh start. Dunfermline are an ambitious club and, although they struggled last season, I am confident we will do much better next year. I am just looking forward to playing for my new team and showing everyone at the club what I can do."
Dunfermline assistant manager and former Dons player Craig Robertson thought it was a great signing for the Pars. "He is young and hungry with something to prove," he added.
Morrison made headlines this season as he avoided punishment following an outburst in the press in February. The youngster was called in to Pittodrie to explain his reported rant concerning manager Jimmy Calderwood's team selection and tactics. Calderwood accepted the player's apology and dropped the issue without any form of disciplinary action, but it was clear that Morrison was not in Jimmy's plans for the future of Aberdeen FC.
Stand Free wishes Scott all the best at Dunfermline, except against the Dons!
