Dundee are currently involved an a battle with the SPL regarding Livingston's unusual and possibly illegal payment of Hassan Kachloul, but if they fail to win their fight to remain in the SPL, Lovell is unlikely to be retained the club.
Aberdeen have already had an offer for the forward rejected, with Dundee wanting £250,000 for Lovell. However, this sum has already been reduced from the ridiculous £500,000 price the club slapped on Lovell's head midway through last season, and a deal with the Dons may yet be struck.
In a silly bit of posturing, Dundee warned The Dons to 'put up or shut up' last month but they have conceded that they would be forced to sell Lovell to raise finances regardless of whether they stay in the SPL or not. But while Levein may hold an interest, Leicester are unlikely to fork out a quarter of a million for a SFL striker.
