DONS midfielder Robert Milsom hopes to agree a new contract to stay at Pittodrie beyond the end of this season - but he is a major injury doubt for Wednesday’s Scottish Cup replay with St Mirren.
Milsom, who suffered a thigh strain during the Dons' dramatic 1-1 draw with the Buddies in Paisley, has been a revelation since arriving from Fulham in January.
His current deal expires in the summer, but he is keen to stay with Craig Brown's side in the hope of playing in the Europa League next term.
"I'm enjoying it here and hopefully I can carry on here," said Milsom in the Daily Record. "I spent a lot of time at Fulham and enjoyed it but I wasn't playing games.
"We have a big opportunity to win a cup and it would impact massively on whether I stay.
"I am keen to remain at Aberdeen anyway. There have been talks already and I have made it clear I want to stay.
"The chance of winning the Scottish Cup and then qualifying for the Europa League is something that appeals.
"I didn't feature when Fulham reached the final of the competition because I was injured so it would be great do get there with Aberdeen."
