NEW Dons gaffer Mark McGhee has reiterated his reason for sacking Jim Leighton and bringing in new goalkeeping coach Colin Meldrum — Meldrum has a broader set of skills.
McGhee was frank with the Dons support after the surprise sacking of club legend Leighton, telling us that he needed someone who was more than just a goalkeeping coach.
And after the move to bring in Meldrum was completed earlier this week, McGhee has reiterated his plan to create a coaching team with the ability to multi-task.
He told RedWeb: "Colin has expertise in the gymnasium and on the fitness side of things.
"He is a lot more than just a goalkeeping coach. He is young, ambitious and enthusiastic and brings a lot to my team here."
