McNamee To Join Caldo Revolution

SCOTLAND cap David McNamee has been targetted by Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood to replace Kevin McNaughton this summer.

McNamee is expected to leave Livingston side following their well deserved relegation from the SPL in order to resurrect his international career.

The 25-year-old full back won two caps under Berti Vogts but then dropped out of the Scotland scene after sustaining a serious knee injury last season.

He has now returned to full fitness and played 14 games this term, including the recent 3-1 win over Dundee utd, after returning to action on the last day of last year.

Dons gaffer Calderwood was unusually coy about the move when he told the Daily Record: "I am not speaking about my plans because every time I mention a player, he seems to be indispensable to his club.

"I intend signing four players over the summer to strengthen and freshen up the squad but I won't be saying anything more until the deals have been done."

With the Dons set to make an announcement about a new goalkeeper this week, thought to be Norwich's Paul Gallagher, and moves to sign Ferne Snoyl already underway, that leaves only one mystery target.

Let the rumours commence.
