New Aberdeen boss McInnes has run the rule over Middlesbrough keeper Connor Ripley and Cardiff’s Elliot Parish already this summer.
And it has emerged that former Man City stopper Nicky Weaver is set to join the Reds on their pre-season tour in Ireland.
20-year-old Ripley spent two days training with the Dons last week but has not joined the squad as they left for Dublin today.
Ripley has returned to the Riverside while Derek McInnes deliberates over his options between the sticks, but the England Under-20 keeper has not ruled out a return north.
He said: "Hopefully I can get this loan move up and running and can play for Aberdeen, who are a big club with a big history.
"I’m going home for a week but hopefully I will be back up again. I want to be here for the rest of the season."
Goalkeeper has been a problem position for Aberdeen for a number of years, with the erratic Jamie Langfield somehow managing to become a default Number One as a series of keepers passed through Pittodrie leaving a trail of stench behind them.
