Celtic now have a seven-point gap over the Dons, who slip to third behind Hearts after squandering a five-point lead at the top.
But McInnes said: “Only someone really foolish who doesn’t know what they’re talking about would say at the minute anybody else but Celtic will win the league.
“But I think it is wrong to say it is over and it is disrespectful to the rest of the teams to think a league can be won by October.
“I think there was a similar points difference last season and everyone said the same thing and when we met again there was still something on the game.”
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes took some positives from the 3-1 defeat at Parkhead.
"I thought in the first half there was a lot to be encouraged by and a lot of positive play," McInnes said.
"We had a nice compact shape and we created a lot of chances. How we only scored one here I do not know."
