ABERDEEN boss Mark McGhee is taking nothing for granted ahead of tonight's Scottish Cup clash with First Division Raith Rovers.
The Dons came from behind to draw at Raith in the Scottish Cup, then gained a decent point at Hibernian in the SPL, but their performance in the 4-4 draw agains Celtic on Saturday was the best of the bunch.
That sets the Dons up nicely for Tuesday night's cup replay against Raith at Pittodrie but McGhee is wary of another false dawn.
"After the Dundee United and Hearts games in January I thought it was happening for us so I won't get ahead of myself," he told the club's official website.
"If we play eight or 10 games and produce the same sort of performance then I will start to think (the team has found consistency) but at the moment I will take nothing for granted.
"I'm going to be in the dressing room before the Raith game to do the best that I can to demand that same sort of performance.
"But I do think they have the bit between their teeth so I think they will start well."
Raith would be looking forward to a quarter-final clash with fellow First Division side Dundee if Aberdeen had not scored a 95th-minute goal at Starks Park to earn the replay.
McGhee, aware of the importance of a good cup run for the Pittodrie club, reiterated his belief that the game against Raith was more important than the visit of Celtic.
He said: "There may come games that take on a greater importance, whether they be further on in the cup or in getting into the top six or possibly getting a top four finish, or whatever.
"But so far this game against Raith is the most important, more than Saturday just past, regardless of what anybody else thinks.
"There is an incentive for us to get through to play Dundee and that has to be our focus."
