DONS manager Mark McGhee told Aberdeen supporters today that he has more money to spend than he had last season.
McGhee spoke to reporters as the story-starved local press were desperate to squeeze something of interest from a traditionally quiet period of the close season.
The Aberdeen manager let slip that his budget is increased compared to last summer.
But McGhee attempted to calm impatient Dons fans who are desperate to see an influx of new players at the club.
He will be looking to complete a playing staff revolution by the close of the transfer window, but does not expect much action in the next fortnight.
He said: “This is the quietest time of the season and I expect the next couple of weeks to be just as low key.
“It is difficult to get any business done at present but I’m relaxed about the situation. People are on holiday but I am still talking to managers, players and agents.”
