NEW Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee couldn't have wished for a more awkward first few fixtures, as the SPL released details of next season's games this morning.
McGhee will lock horns with Tony Mowbray's Celtic on the opening day, giving the lazy central belt media plenty of opportunity to regurgitate the 'second choice' stories.
Once the dust has settled on that encounter, the Dons next home game will be against McGhee's former club Motherwell.
There is no love lost between the two clubs after a week's worth of negotiating over Well's compensation for McGhee, including comments from both sides in the press.
And some Motherwell fans' reactions since McGhee's move, branding the man who took them to Europe two seasons in a row a Judas, will ensure he recieves a warm welcome from the usually decently-sized travelling Steelmen support.
Aberdeen's New Year fixture will be the formerly-traditional jaunt to Tannadice to face Dundee Utd, while the fans face a lengthy trip to Paisley for the Boxing Day fixture.
