Aberdeen manager Craig Brown may sanction a short-term loan move for goalkeeper Jamie Langfield to aid his return to action.
Langfield has not played so far this season after suffering a brain seizure in the summer and has yet to undergo a medical procedure.
However, Brown is keen to see the player challenge David Gonzalez and Jason Brown for the gloves and says a loan spell may help Langfield's progress.
The Dons boss said: "We've got to discount Jamie from starting as first choice at the moment until the procedure is over.
"Once that's done and he gets some games under his belt it's a three-way contest for first place in goal.
"A suitable short-term emergency loan of 28 days may get him four or five games with someone who maybe needs a goalkeeper short-term.
"But that's got to be suitable for both ourselves and for Jamie."
