On Saturday, video footage came to light which appeared to show Dundee United's Paul Paton spit at Johnny Hayes during the Dons' 2-0 win at Tannadice.
The SFA have today announced that they have issued Paton with a notice of complaint for spitting at an opponent.
However Johnny Hayes immediately went onto Twitter to say this:
Just wanna clear it up that Paul Paton never spat at me, what happens and is said on the pitch is brushed aside at the end of 90mins!

There are a few exceptions to what I said in my last tweet obviously, which I won't comment on.

And What happened on Saturday will stay between myself and Paul,we've spoke on this non issue, and if asked I'll confirm what happened (1/2)

To the Scottish FA, I'd never want to see a fellow pro being accused or found guilty of something that never happened! (2/2)
