The Dons offered the 23-year-old left back a pre-contract in the January transfer window and he is currently weighing up the offer.
Hammell's agent Catherine Robertson told the Press & Journal: "There's been a lot of scouts watching Steven and managers on the phone."
"We did meet Aberdeen and Steven was very impressed with the set-up and the plans for the club.
"We told Aberdeen he is happy to concentrate on his commitments with Motherwell until the end of the season. He won't make a decision until then.
"I'm sure we will be speaking to Aberdeen again."
Celtic, Hibs and the usual suspects down South have been linked with Hammell in recent weeks.
But despite the agent's bluster, Aberdeen currently hold most of the cards thanks to the form of Ferne Snoyl since he arrived on loan from Feyenoord.
The Dutch 20-year-old has already shown the signs of becoming a cult hero at Pittodrie and Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood has said he would like to make the move permanent.
If a move for Snoyl could be funded, this may make Hammell surplus to requirements at Pittodrie so his agent should perhaps spend the next few weeks ensuring that the interest from other clubs is genuine.
