The Dons still want the versatile midfielder to prove his fitness before they make a final decision on his prospective transfer to Pittodrie. Griffin has already expressed his desire to move North, having already played for St Johnstone and Dundee United.
Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood told the Press & Journal this week : "I don't know what Danny's situation is right now. I haven't spoken to him for around six weeks, when I said I'd get back to him over the summer.
"I spoke to [Dons legend and Director of Football] Willie Miller about it today. We don't know if the player's situation at Stockport has changed since we last spoke, so I'll give him a call this week."
Calderwood has not ruled out offering Griffin the chance to prove himself during the 10-day stint in Holland, saying: "It would depend on his situation and on Stockport. I don't know how fit he is."
Referring to Stockport's pledge to release Griffin, made earlier this year, Jimmy added, "Danny isn't a free agent, he still has a contract at Stockport, but there wouldn't be a fee involved."
