Following on from the successful pilot Friday evening clash against Dunfermline in September 2011, the match will now go ahead on Friday 15th February, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
The supporters gave positive feedback about the Friday evening game as well as generating an atmosphere that arguably would not have been matched on a weekend afternoon.
And importantly, Grampian Police have given the go-ahead to Friday fixtures following last season's fixture.
Aberdeen Chief Executive Duncan Fraser told RedWeb: "The feedback from the Pars match was extremely positive with many supporters commenting on what a great atmosphere there was that evening and we're confident that's something we can recreate.
"Grampian Police were also very complimentary regarding the experiment and their support has been invaluable to making Friday night football a reality.
"The SPL have been keen to promote this where possible and I have to also thank Scot Gardiner and the Board at Dundee FC for agreeing to this change with supporters in mind.
"It is vital that the Dundee match is viewed as another success, and if so it could well become a regular season event against clubs that we consider local opposition, going forward."
