TOGOLESE midfielder Yoann Folly's season is over after it was revealed that he has broken his ankle.
Dons boss Craig Brown confirmed Folly will miss the rest of the campaign after being stretchered off during the 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Pittodrie yesterday.
The Togolese midfielder sustained the injury after a very hard challenge from Paul Dixon, who won the ball - but questions must be asked about whether tackles of that nature, which endanger players' careers, should be punished.
Dons starlet Fraser Fyvie - who is currently sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury - was victim to a similar challenge from Ian Murray at Easter Road last season, which led to a spell on the treatment table for the youngster but went unpunished during that game.
Brown said: "The unfortunate loss of Yoann Folly, who has gone to hospital, affected us a bit.
"He's suffering from a broken ankle, which is quite sad and he's out for the rest of the season."
