The young Bournemouth forward is set to become a free agent in June, and with Exeter City ready to move for Stockley it appears that Aberdeen have swooped in to snatch the player.

Exeter manager Paul Tisdale confirmed on Monday that the League Two club have made two bids to try and sign Stockley after he bagged 10 goals in 22 appearances during a loan spell with the Grecians.

He scored 14 goals in 22 appearances while on loan at Woking in 2012/13 and is now expected to form part of Aberdeen’s assault on the Scottish Premiership in the 2016/17 campaign.

Stockley has caught the eye of Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes, and is now expected to sign a two-year contract with the Scottish Premiership side according to Teamtalk.

Bournemouth will be due compensation for a player that made his debut for the club as a 15-year-old in 2009 but has not played for the first team since 2012 when they were in League One.

The 22-year-old has also been on loan at Portsmouth this season, and has made 25 appearances for the Bournemouth since 2009.
