Liverpool agreed a deal to loan players to the Dons, with the first fruits of that arrangement being top-quality keeper Danny Ward and substitute defender Ryan McLaughlin.
Despite the Anfield club’s recent change of manager, McInnes is keen to continue the loan arrangement.
He said: "The relationship with Liverpool was initially through Brendan [Rodgers], but the relationship is there with the club at all levels.
"I think it is important we have that relationship. You never know what can happen but we are confident that, certainly in Danny’s case, Liverpool see the value in him being here at Aberdeen."
