ATTACKING midfielder Gary McDonald has sealed a move from Oldham Athletic to Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old is out of contract at the English League One side and a pre-contract agreement has been officially announced by AFC this morning.
The former Kilmarnock midfielder has made a total of 91 appearances for Oldham, scoring 12 goals. He is currently the club's third-top scorer this season.
McDonald also scored the winning goal as Oldham knocked Premiership club Everton out of the FA Cup at Goodison Park this year.
McDonald, who can play on the right or in the centre, spent five years at Rugby Park, making 116 appearances, and scored against Poland on his debut for the Scotland Futures team three years ago.
He said: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Oldham and was made a good offer to stay. However, the lure of returning to the SPL with such a great club as Aberdeen was a major factor in my decision and I can't wait for the new season to get underway."
Meanwhile the Dons have taken former De Graafschap youngster Dyon Camero on trial with a view to a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old is hoping to join former team-mate Jeffrey de Visscher at Pittodrie.
