A Sunday newspaper reported that Fyvie was set to complete a £1 million transfer to Fulham, which was followed up by a hurridly rewritten article on Sky Sports' website.
The latter also claimed that Fyvie, who has now recovered from a cruciate knee ligament injury that blighted last tseason, was interesting Blackburn and Newcastle.
Fyvie, who holds the record for the youngester ever goalscorer in a SPL match, is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge in Scotland in recent years after breaking into the Aberdeen side as a 16-year-old.
Aberdeen are reluctant to lose Fyvie, and would certainly struggle to reject a sizeable offer for the midfielder in the current climate.
But Brown has quashed claims that any club has been in contact with Aberdeen, let alone made a bid for the player.
He said: "It's just mischief making. There have been no approaches from anyone for Fraser."
