Dons Reserves Lose To Killie

Aberdeen followed up their 2-1 home defeat to Kilmarnock on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat at Rugby Park in the first round of Reserve League fixtures. More worrying that the result was the fact that injury worries Michael Hart, Richie Byrne, Andrew Considine and Russell Anderson did not play any part in last night's match. It was hoped that at least some of the Dons crocks would get a run-out this week, but that has not transpired thus far.
Following an uneventful and fairly even opening spell, Killie broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 37th minute; the kick taken by first team regular Leven. Worse was to follow eight minutes later when Campbell netted from close range to double the Rugby Park side's lead.
Six minutes after half time, the Dons reserves had a great opportunity to get back into the game, but misfit striker Steven Craig blasted a penalty kick wide of the post. In an overall disappointing performance from Aberdeen, according to
RedWeb, their best effort was a Brian Neill shot in 84 minutes when he latched on to an Andy Bagshaw through ball.
