Aberdeen's request to the SPL to have tomorrow's fixture at Celtic postponed due to the severe road conditions in the north-east has been rejected.
A spokesman said: "We are naturally extremely disappointed but we have to accept the decision. However, had the circumstances not been exceptional we would not have asked for a postponement
"We would urge all supporters travelling to tomorrow's match to check with the appropriate authorities regarding conditions prior to setting out and not to do so unless advised it is safe. Fans should also allow additional time for their journey and ensure they have extra warm clothing, food and hot drinks with them, in the event of becoming stranded."
Dons' Postponement Bid Rejected
Earlier today, the Dons' Executive Director, Head of Operations Duncan Fraser said: “The weather is the severest we've experienced for many years and, with the authorities urging people not to travel, asking for a postponement is the only sensible option open to us.
“The safety of our fans is absolutely paramount to us and, without trying to over dramatise the situation, with no improvement forecast over the next twenty-four hours, there is a real risk of supporters becoming stranded or involved in an accident. This is an exceptional situation and one where we feel asking our fans to travel is bordering on the reckless.”
