Dons News Round-up
Aberdeen have been chasing a left-back all summer, and by the Law of Sod it was always going to be the case that Byrne would be first injured this season.
Jimmy Calderwood told RedWeb: "Zander [Diamond], [Darren] Mackie and Byrne all picked up knocks this week.
"Zander and Mackie should be fit however Byrne will be out for about two weeks."
Calderwood has claimed this week that a player could be signed by the weekend to finally end the left-back chase.
He said: "I have been in the market for a left-back as cover for Richie for some time.
"A manager has changed his mind about letting a player go and hopefully a deal will be reached quite quickly."

Scott Severin did not appear to be fully fit in his captain's testimonial, and indeed limped off when substituted.
Calderwood added: "Severin is also struggling for this week, we will check on him [on Friday]."
The match will be played on Tuesday the 22nd of August or Wednesday 23rd.
The Dons opened the scoring in an entertaining game through Gary Dempsey.
James Beattie equalised for the Toffeemen before Jamie Smith restored Aberdeen's advantage.
But the guests levelled with a goal from Tim Cahill, who was hilariously booed by Dons fans mistaking him for former Ger Michel Arteta, and scored a late winner through Victor Anichebe.
Anderson said: "It was everything and more that I wanted from the evening. I was worried beforehand things would not work out, but they did, it was a great night and I really enjoyed it."
The Dons kids that ran Celtic very close in the Scottish Youth league last term will play at the Dalziel Playing Fields in Cleland at 12 noon.
