It appears that Jimmy Calderwood is willing to give the lad a chance to prove himself at Pittodrie, and Dons fans will be hoping that he can deliver the goods.
Meanwhile, Celtic youngster Paul Lawson is considering his future at the Parkhead and may be tempted to head north to Pittodrie. The midfielder has had limited opportunities at Celtic Park and his contract runs out at the end of the season.
Lawson's family are all Dons fans, and he trained with the club until he was around 13 years old. He is also Dons captain Russell Anderson's brother-in-law, and he told the Sunday Times Scotland, "We're quite close and speak a lot.
I've spoken to him about my Celtic future and probably will again."
