Four Dons youngsters were involved last night as Scotland's Under 19s dismantled their Danish counterparts 5-1 at McDiarmid Park.
Jonathan Crawford and Chris 'Bebo' Maguire started the game, with Michael Paton and Ryan Strachan coming off the bench in the second half as Billy Stark and Tommy McIntyre's team got their preparations for the upcoming Euro qualifying campaign off to a flyer.
Although Crawford gave away the Dane's penalty, scored by Brian Laudrup's son Mads, Maguire more than made up for this with two goals at the other end.
Maguire, who plundered the Dons' winning goal in Inverness last Saturday, scored an outstanding goal for the Scots in the first half and rounded up the scoring with their fifth in the second period.
Hopefully this is the first sign of the changes brought into the Dons' youth set-up by recently appointed Head of Youth Development Lenny Taylor, including clearing out the dead wood at the club and the creation of the Aberdeen Football Club Youth Academy in June 2006.
