ABERDEEN battered East Fife 6-0 in the Scottish Cup today to ease into the fifth-round draw and continue the Dons' month-long unbeaten run under the new management team.
A first-half Chris Maguire hat-trick and a 29th-minute Scott Vernon goal put the Dons 4-0 up at half-time, killing the tie as a contest.
Maguire struck in the 12th, 23rd and 41st minutes - his first senior hat-trick - and could have had more in that half, and the Dons support in the 6918 crowd will be praying that the club can sort out a new contract for Bebo rather than face losing a player at the top of his game for free in the summer.
The Dons took their foot off the gas in the second half, but they still added goals through Vernon and a first Dons senior goal from Josh Magennis late in the game, which got the biggest cheer of the day.
On top of the victory, the appearance of Peter Pawlett from the subs bench soon after half-time, plus a superb performance from Ryan Jack were other positive signs for the Dons fans in a thoroughly satisfactory afternoon.
