The Aberdeen boss has steered the Pittodrie men into second spot and on the verge of a Europa League berth for the first time in five years.
McInnes has yet to sample continental competition as a manager and believes reaching Europe would be the perfect way to end his debut Dons season.
And tomorrow Aberdeen could clinch second place with a win over Celtic and if Motherwell fail to beat St Johnstone at Fir Park.
McInnes said: “I have never managed in Europe. You should always be looking to better yourself, whether it’s as a player, coach or manager.
“One of my ambitions has always been to get a taste of what it would be like to lead a team in Europe.
“It would also mean a lot to the club financially and in terms of prestige.
“Qualification would also be an indication of how far the club has come in the past year. It would mean a great deal to me too.
