Falkirk chairman Campbell Christie put in an official complaint to the SPL about the state of the Pittodrie pitch last week.
And yesterday the SPL reported on their website that the game has been switched to Dundee Utd's stadium Tannadice Park.
An SPL spokesman said: "Several games have been postponed at Motherwell's stadium this season, and it has caused a massive pile-up of fixture congestion. We cannot allow the Aberdeen situation to become outstanding with the SPL split approaching and there are few gameslots remaining for rearranged fixtures due to postponement, so the decision was taken swiftly to deal with the current playing surface issue at Aberdeen."
Last week Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood tried to blame the Pittodrie playing surface for Aberdeen's poor results this season.
He was backed up by Motherwell striker Ross McCormack, Aberdeen University Professor of Soil Science Charles Dimmock and Dons legend and Director of Football Willie Miller.
Today, Miller said: "We are currently deciding whether to appeal the decision because it is obviously not an ideal situation for players or fans.
"But as myself and Jimmy came out publicly last week criticising the pitch, we may not have a leg to stand on.
"Our time would probably be better spent ensuring that the surface is fit for the post-split fixtures.
"I'm no horticulturist so I'm not in a position to explain why the pitch is in such poor condition. However, we've played a lot of games on it this season and the bad weather meant the first team had to train on it several times too."
The game has already had to be switched from Saturday to Monday for live Setanta coverage. The match will kick-off at Tannadice at the rearranged time of 8:45pm to allow the Dons support adequate travelling time.
